TESO News: The Elder Scrolls Online Economy
It comes to no surprise that in The Elder Scrolls Online an economy will emerge from collecting items to craft or from farming gold. In a recent interview with ZeniMax Online Studio's creative director, Paul Sage, Sage shed some light on what to expect in the game.
The Elder Scrolls Online will allow players to fully progress the game at their own pace. By unlocking abilities, players can build their deck according to their play-style. To gain better weapons that work well with the abilities, the team has tweaked TESO to be extremely rewarding. According to an interview on GameNGuide.com, Sage mentioned players are required to work hard to receive upgrades to their gear and equipment.
"What we hope it will be like is players will have to work hard to get the gear they really want, but will feel rewarded every time they do," Sage said. "Obviously having a huge economy, especially in the megaserver environment is going to be a challenge, but we are looking to make sure players never feel poor, but few should ever feel rich. Players should have enough items and in game money to play how they want."
The harder the player works, the better their rewards will be. This will be TESO's selling point if each and every player worked hard to get a certain crafting item for their gear. The game doesn't expect every player to obtain an equal amount of stat-brimming equipment, however, players will be better equipped the better items they find.
The same concept goes the same for Heroes of the Storm and for gold but it is uncertain how easy or hard gold will be dropped in the game. Players will not feel left out even if they don't possess the best gear or the largest amount of money. The game is aimed to balance the players out so therefore no player can take advantage over others.
