ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE RACES
There are three primary factions, or Alliances, in the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online game that is developed and published by Bethesda Softworks. In a land torn by civil war, these Alliances fight for dominance over the land Cyrrodil and control of the Imperial Throne. Here is an overview of these factions: The Daggerfall Covenant, The Ebonheart Pact and the Aldmeri Dominion.
The Daggerfall Covenant built of the Bretons, Orcs and Redguards is the most diverse of the factions. The Bretons are the human race most adept at using magic, while their Redguard desert allies are far more apt to pray to their gods than cast spells. The Orcs bring a fierce warrior aspect to the alliance, grounded in one simple rule: You are strong, or you die.
No one really sure how the Ebonheart pact was formed. The warrior Nords and arcane Dunmer have put aside their centuries long enmity and forged an Alliance to take back Tamriel. Nordic history tells that they once ruled the land, and it seems they are willing to go to any lengths to fulfill that destiny. The lizard like Argonians are masters of stealth and small blades, making them ideal scouts for this unlikely partnership.
The Elves want reassert their dominance of Tamriel, after all, they first arrived millennia ago. The Altmer, or High Elves have allied with their Wood Elf kin and neighboring cat-like Khajit to form the Aldmeri Dominion in an attempt to bring a measure of stability to the Ruby Throne. The Altmer possess extraordinary magical ability while Wood Elf archers are unparalleled in all of Tamriel. The Khajit, owing a great debt to the Altmer for aiding them in a time of peril, they provide the Dominion with front line troops to back up the fierce artillery of the others.
